We are looking to hire a group of General Labourers in Textiles Fabrication. Our Beamsville, ON client requires individuals with keen attention to detail and good fine motor skills to work in a fast-paced environment, operating machines to manufacture vinyl products like tarps, awnings, banners, etc. The position is located in Beamsville, Ontario. Own transportation is an asset, however we may be able to arrange carpool transportation from our St. Catharines location. Experience is not required, as our client is willing to train the right individuals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Create, read and interpret drawings specifications, patterns, manuals and processes
Operate sewing, grommet and other sewing related machines to sew vinyl material, etc.
Operate Bar Welder to bind vinyl materials
Observe and follow work schedules and co-ordinate work with other departments
Receive, count, sort, label, pack and unpack materials
Select, lay-out, measure, mark, cut, assemble and repair products made from various textiles
Examine and ensure quality of work
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18+ years of age.
Understand your obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Ensure standards for safe working conditions are followed
Must be able to handle heavy loads
Good manual and physical dexterity.
Good attention to detail and a desire for quality work.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand fluent English.
Ability to read and work with order specifications, and processes.
Ability to read and understand written instructions.
Ability to follow verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Good organizational skills with an ability to prioritize work
Must be goal oriented and possess the ability to work well under pressure
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime
Wear the required personal protective equipment (CSA-approved steel toe work shoes or boots (green patch) and face masks are required at all times)
