Moving Labourer

$14.25 / hr | Part-time, On Call | St. Catharines

We are looking for physically fit individuals to work as moving labourers on a part-time, on call basis to start, with potential for permanent, full-time hire. Because moving is stressful, our client is seeking candidates with a commitment to customer service and an appreciation for variety in your job. The ideal candidate is someone who has integrity, is energetic, and is committed to providing a high level of customer service. You will efficiently and effectively work as part of a team to assist with the moving of home and business customer’s belongings.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Pad, wrap, move, and pack boxes and furniture
Assist with the loading of items into moving trucks
Assist with the unloading of items into customers' homes or businesses
Maintain clients assets and property in clean, working order (vehicles, tools, and equipment)
Handle inquiries or concerns from customers in a professional manner and redirect where possible
Provide exceptional customer service during each and every customer interaction
All other duties as assigned by move supervisor, office manager and/or general manager
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Be proficient in GPS/map reading and have an ability to communicate directions
Be able to communicate in an effective, helpful and friendly manner
Ability to listen and take instruction from driver/trainer
Punctual and reliable
Have at least 1 year of furniture handling and moving experience
Flexible to work weekends as needed

Sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, turn/twist, including moving up and down steps/stairs
Talk, hear, communicate in English
Effectively use arms, hands and fingers
The employee is occasionally required to lift 100 pounds or more (in tandem)
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
