Plant Labourer (Household Hazardous Waste)
$16.00-16.50 / hr | Part-time, On Call, leading to Full-Time | St. Catharines, ON

Our client, a hazardous waste management company specializing in the packaging, transport and recycling/disposition of hazardous wastes generated from residential, industrial, institutional and educational facilities, is seeking energetic, outgoing and detail oriented individuals to work in the production facility as a plant labourers.
Own transportation to this site is preferred, however, temporary carpool assistance may be available from St. Catharines. Location is just beyond the city border for public transportation, however, Trans-Cab can be arranged with the bus driver at the closest stop to the location.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Unpacking, and bulking of packaged hazardous chemical wastes as part of a production line
Material handling including but not limited to the handling of pails, drums and totes
Use of power tools/equipment to dismantle or cut pails, drums, crates and totes
Lifting, loading, stacking, pumping and general bulking of liquid and solid chemical waste
General facility maintenance/cleaning
Minimum Requirements:
Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma
Be able to establish own means of transport for reliable work attendance upon permanent hire
Be able to work as part of a fast paced production team
Demonstrate an aptitude for critical thinking as it applies to health and safety in a chemical production environment
Be available for a 5-day work week
Be able to work 8-9 hour shifts
Opportunity for overtime during peak periods
Steel-toed safety footwear is mandatory
