Greenhouse Worker

Currently, we have openings for Greenhouse Labourers in several of our client sites between Beamsville to Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON. These positions are seasonal full-time and involve working with cut flowers, cut branches, potted plants, and more. There are a lot of repetitive movements, as well as standing for long periods of time. The jobs include bending, lifting, and carrying trays of plants, which can all be physically demanding. There is no special education or experience required. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training and an opportunity for some great work experience!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Planting, harvesting, and processing flowers
Potting and re-potting plants, planting bulbs and seeds
Examining products for quality & reporting signs of damage or disease
Cleaning plants and preparing for shipping
Packaging and preparing orders for shipment
Clearing growing areas and preparing for new plants
Cleaning work areas
Work Environment:
Exposure to seasonal temperatures (hot, cold)
Cold/refrigerated areas
Wet/damp
Dusty
Noisy
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to distinguish between colours
Ability to understand and follow verbal/written direction
Must be comfortable doing physical work, standing for long periods of time and in varying temperatures
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Ability to lift, walk freely, bend, kneel, crouch, and turn
Ability to work in manufacturing environment meeting production targets
Must be comfortable wearing steel-toe/safety boots/shoes
