Day Porter (Winery Events)
$14.25 / hr | Seasonal Part-Time | Weekends | Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON
Our Niagara-on-the-Lake client is requesting seasonal support for weekend events at local wineries.
Candidate must be willing to be in an establishment with the general public (social distancing and mask regulations in effect as long as required by the region).
Day Porters help keep frequently used areas clean and well stocked. Individuals will be expected to make regular rounds to washroom facilities to check on, clean and restock paper and hygiene products, perform regular sanitation of frequently touched areas, such as hand rails, door handles, etc, clean spills, empty garbage's, and any other task requested by the on-site supervisor. Training will be provided, and while you work as part of a team, each member is designated for a specific area, meaning much of the work is performed on your own and unsupervised. A mature, self-motivated individual is best suited for this position.
Own transportation is an asset, but not required.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lobby maintenance
Sanitation of high-touch areas
Cleaning common areas like kitchens, cafeterias and patios
Polishing entrances so they are always looking their best
Monitoring and servicing restrooms
Removing trash and debris
Restroom Restocking
Event setup/tear down (when requested)
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Working Conditions | Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
Work outside and inside
Work in proximity to individuals who have been consuming alcohol
Work in proximity to alcohol being served
Work with disinfecting cleaners and chemicals
Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18+ years of age.
Ability to manage your time efficiently.
Work well when supervisors are not present.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
Good attention to detail and a desire for quality work.
Good organizational skills with an ability to prioritize work
Must be goal oriented and possess the ability to work well under pressure
Wear the required personal protective equipment
6-12 months experience in professional cleaning environment an asset, but not required.
