CNC Operator
$18.00 / hr | Full-time | Beamsville, ON

Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Operator with 1-2 years experience to join their team and help to enhance the productivity of their organization. CNC Operators produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. They are responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies. The successful candidate will perform work quality checks and monitor machine output on a CNC saw.
Responsibilities:
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, grinding, milling etc
Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc
Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
Handle, inspect, measure and pack finished parts
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
Follow production schedules
Meet quality requirements for each job
Complete paperwork including production reports, down-time reports, quality inspections and time sheets
Clean machine, worktables and floors. Keep work area orderly and organized
Change blades and tooling for specific jobs
Move carts, boxes, containers and bundles as needed
Communicate with supervisors, packers, shipping personnel and coworkers from other shifts
Perform basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting
Know when to call maintenance personnel because necessary maintenace is beyond your capability.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a CNC operator (1-2 years)
Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
Good communication abilities
Industrial shop experience is an asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, organize deadlines and priorities
Able to stand for long periods of time and be able to do heavy lifting
Strong team player
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Able to follow all safety procedures and wear all PPE apparel required for the job
